Fine Art Underwater Maternity Sessions

TURNING YOUR GROWING BELLY INTO VISUALLY STUNNING WORKS OF ART

Fine Art Underwater Maternity Session Information

Scheduling.

Underwater maternity sessions are best captured between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy so that you have a nice round belly but are still feeling well.  If you’re expecting multiples, your session should be scheduled anywhere from 24-32 weeks, depending on your unique circumstances.  Of course, if you are finding me closer to your due date, don’t hesitate!  We can photograph maternity sessions up until your baby is born.  Check availability for last-minute sessions.

Planning + Styling.

Prior to your maternity session, we will meet in person to get to know each other and discuss lighting, posing, and wardrobe.  You will have access to my maternity gown collection, try on the gowns to decide what you’ll wear for the session, and we will discuss the styling for the other family members included in the session.  If you would prefer to purchase your own gown, I will provide you with a list of my favorite exquisite dressmakers and vendors and help you find what you’re looking for.  Clients typically wear two different gowns for the Underwater Maternity Sessions – one for out water and one for in water.  We will also have the opportunity to experience the gorgeous heirloom products that I offer in person so that you can start planning the final result from your session.

Location + What to Expect.

The Underwater Maternity Sessions are typically held at a local Florida spring in a beautiful state park, but can also be held at a swimming pool if you’d prefer.  The session also includes out-of-water images, which are done before getting into the water.  The spring is between 4 – 6 feet deep so we are usually standing with our heads out of the water.  As a result, it is not necessary to be a strong swimmer to capture amazing images.  Some clients choose not to put their heads underwater and only capture the moving fabric with their bellies in a variety of poses.  Some clients, who are strong swimmers, have the availability and option to perform multiple underwater poses, like backbends, laying on the bottom of the spring, etc.  All of these details will be discussed and planned beforehand so that I know your comfort level with the water.  I will also provide information on how to practice moving, posing, and breathing in the water, in case you have access to a pool and can practice beforehand.

Family Welcome.

You can be photographed by yourself, with a significant other, with your other children, if this is not your first baby, or with a grandmother or grandfather-to-be.  The more the merrier!  We know this is a precious and exciting time in one’s life and it should be captured with your family and loved ones.

Maternity Session.

The moment we’ve been waiting for!  Professional hair and makeup artistry can be added to your session for an additional fee so that all you have to do is be pampered and feel beautiful, strong, and glowing in the planned wardrobe.  The session will move at a calm and relaxed pace, giving breaks when needed, to provide an unforgettable experience and create stunning portraits of this momentous time in your life.

Reveal and Ordering Session.

Within 10 days of your session, I will come to your home to reveal your gorgeous images, create custom wall displays, and guide and assist you through the image and product decision-making process.  The chosen images will receive master art retouching prior to product orders being placed.

Your ordered products will be hand delivered and installed at your home.  A custom experience from beginning to end.
